Few leaves are left on the trees. The garden is prepared to sleep for the winter. But the weather is gifting us with a few warm days before Illinois settles into the cold season.
We have had the first hard frost, so I deem this Indian Summer. I am taking daily walks through the village in a light pull-over and feel the warm sun on my face. Ah, bliss. Store it up now. The biting cold wind will soon make walks more duty than delight. But then, the first snow still makes me smile.
