Return To Door County

Sunset At Cave Point County Park

Sunset At Cave Point County Park

Door County calling–and we are listening. The white sand beaches, wonderful restaurants and charming villages and marinas call us back every other year. We are never disappointed.

My husband and I find just what we are looking for in the laid-back pace and quiet shores of the Door. Breakfast at the White Gull Inn and a stroll to Sunset Beach at the end of the shady street is a great start. Just sitting having coffee on Main Street, Fish Creek, or gelato overlooking the marina at Egg Harbor is the kind of relaxing vacation we are looking for.

After pool-hopping on the limestone washed edges of Cave Point, we usually go next door to White Fish Dunes State Park for a mile-long stroll on the white sand beach. I’m wondering if it will be warm enough to dip my toes in…

New for 2013!

Our Wisconsin favorite escape always inspires another love story. I began capturing snapshots of impression, color and emotion for my fictional Door County love stories over ten years ago. It is a tangible way to memorialize the Cape Cod of the Midwest with a captivating story. My latest novel, DOOR COUNTY CABIN, is based in a charming fairy-tale cabin near Bailey’s Harbor…I wonder what part of the Door will inspire the next in the series.
